AuthorTopic: free (standalone) physical model synth

Hi all!

I have a request to you VSTi users.

I released for dashsynthesis.com "PhysiSynth Free",
this synth is totally free if you run it as standalone,
to run it as VSTi and DXi you need Infinity RT,
or Infinity ProPlayer which will be released soon by Soundquest.

I'd love to release a low priced VSTi plugin from this project.

The request is to rate the sound* of this little machine,
considering its possible evolution.

Then I can use your rating to invite a programmer,
(like the many good ones who read this forum !)
to a collaborative production for the VSTi
derived from PhisiSynth design.

Anyway I will release the evolution of PhisiSynth
both as Infinity patch and Reaktor .ens

thanx,
Liqih

*to listen to PhisiSynth you need to download it and the free Infinity Player from http://www.dashsynthesis.com

I tried downloading the free Infinity player, but all I got was a file called 4free.php.

Can you explain how I can get the exe-file?

hhmm,

After some random clicking I eventually got the exe file. But maybe you guys can make this system a bit more clear instead of all the redirects (No criticism, only trying to help
)

Do I really have to fill in my e-mail for every download from dash.com? It's a bit annoying.

But now I'm off trying the synth. Really curious about the Infinity synths.....

Hy Michiel, sorry for the trouble. Was you using Opera or Netscape browser? I'm having some trouble with this ones... but with InternetExplorer it works 100%.

And yes, you need to fill out your email on every Download. This is the only way to block "bad-users" out.
And also we can do a promo email latter about news on the site (ONCE MESSAGE, you are not in part of any list) - I could use cookies to put the email automatic, but I did't get good results on this.

Hope you guys understand this...

Regards, WilliamK

Sorry for this term. What I mean is that some users don't care about other people work. They get 24U$ warez and spend 50U$ a day on beer.
They pass the "red-lights" on every signal!
They just don't care... so why should I give this users FREE stuff??
Ok, just joking... I don't really know what I had on my mind when I wrote BadUser...

Drats, it's suposed to work with Netscape 6. Is your one an old version? I got some PHP documents that explains how to setup, and I did.
But why it won't work..? Well, if you rename the free4.php to anthing.zip would it work? Thanxs buddy...

I do have Netscape 6.2

When I clicked the link to the downloadpage, a download came up. When I opened it, it appeared to be the php-file I was talking about. I tried changing to .exe. and to .zip, but it didn't work.

Explorer did the trick

But I finally played around with the plucked string in the Infinity player. I like the overall sound, nice and fresh. I like the combination of the pad-like sound and the plucked sound, but it's not that fresh. it's not a vsti I was missing so far..

And as I might add, I think the interfaces of the infinity ensembles could be a lot better. Not my taste...

thanx Michiel for you comment,

may you tell me a little more about "interfaces of the infinity ensembles could be a lot better"

which ensembles did you see?
how could they be better?

thanx for helping

Lighi,

I was talking about the looks of the ensembles, not the amount of parameters.

I have tried your plucked string and saw the screenshots of the other ensembles like the modular synth (I never try demo's with a 'every-ten-second- beep', I hate them). If I see the interfaces I can tell you guys made them with Infinity. The looks of your plucked string remind me of the organ distributed with the Infinity 2 demo. As I remember it is possible in Infinity to use your own bitmaps and imported buttons. I thought the great benefit of Infinity, compared to lets say Sync Modular or Reaktor, is the abality to make your own GUI.
