AuthorTopic: Patch randomisation

I'd welcome your thoughts on this one...

A few years ago, I used to use a patch editor on my old Atari ST, which had an incredibly useful feature: a "Randomize" button, which would assign random values to (almost) all parameters simultaneously. (Great when you're stuck for ideas.)

Can anyone think of a way to automatically create random patches for VSTis?

Some kind of random CC or SysEx data generator, or script, or something?

Any ideas?

Ah, that looks great - but I should have mentioned that I'm using a Mac.

This appears to be a Windows thing, so...

For Mac, there is Pluggo. That collection has all kinds of parameter modulators & randomizers. You can even control non-Pluggo plugins by loading them via one of the Pluggo host plugins.
