AuthorTopic: More than 8 Pentagons in Cubase...

Doh,

man was I surprised when I checked the Pentagon 1.1 in more depth. I checked it as an FX insert for an audio track. I played it and heard only synth and no audio. NO AUDIO, ONLY SYNTH? Yes, I forgot to switch PI to Voice Modulator mode and if you don't do this it is a normal PI with midi input!!! Here's how:

If you want stereo output you first have to create a stereo track in the arrange window (you can hide it in a folder track).
Then insert PI as an FX insert in the mixer and this instance of PI will show up in the midi outputs as a channel FX midi something.

And this way I have still my 8 precious VSTi slots for all my other stuff available. I tried it with 14 PI's and there seems to be no limit by Cubase. Bang.

Does someone know other VSTi that can do this trick, too?

BTW, the Voice Modulator is a nice vocoder to harmonize drums.

Have fun, I do.

Do you have to be a registered user to get access to the public beta ?????

VAZ may be great, but software-technology's webdesign is one of the worst i've seen in a long time.

Fair cop, but not my job, I must apply some pressure over this issue...

Oh, forgot to ask Martin...will Vaz 2001 VSTi one day be able to host other DXi's (coz it doesn't at present only VSTi's).

Possibly, though it's quite some way down the to-do list and it will be more work than it was to support VST2.

It should do, I've tested the Pro-5 demo in the past, although aren't those available in DXi flavour now?

1) do the patch names show up correctly in the SONAR MIDI tracks?

Not yet, I haven't implemented that interface.

2) Have you tried an offline bounce to tracks?

No, I ought to try that but I can't think why it wouldn't work.

Ok, fair enough, I misunderstood the "public" beta thing.
