Bitshift Audio Releases pHATmatik - Free Loop VSTi for Windows

12.03.2001 Bitshift Audio today announced the immediate availability
of pHATmatik for Windows - a Virtual Studio Technology Instrument (VSTi)
that can play back REX audio loops in any VST 2.0-compliant host.

With pHATmatik and REX-formatted loops, users can now do loop-based
production directly in their digital audio workstation of choice without
having to switch between several different programs for loop
production, midi, and audio.

pHATmatik leverages the industry-standard REX file format, giving
users access to a massive selection of REX-formatted libraries from
third parties. Users can also freely download a regularly updated
selection of REX files directly from the Bitshift Audio web site.

So there you go.

Check out Bitshift Audio

This is...... awesome!

Boah, this is a part of what I dreamed of for a long time now.

i always wanted to have the loops and samples I load into my sampler to get synchronized with the song, without all these steps. (going into recycle, export, import into sampler, import midifile....)

Great! I am so damn hot for this Pro-version, I cannot tell.
Go for it Bitshift, this is really really hot.

thankksthanks

Hi Realmarco,

Could you send us the REX file you're working with?

Thanks,

Art.

Cewl :-)

Maybe you can make it support WaveSurgeon files too? I'm quite sure the guys @ wavesurgeon are openminded about this...

WaveSurgeon = ReCyCle, for less money

Bram.

Fine fine, PhatMatik keeps rockinīon.
Till the day the Pro-version comes along, Iīll use the REX-files I find in the net.

Today I even mor realized how great it will be when I can slice up my own not-REX files inside PhatMatik, as I recycle lots of beats and samples in ReCycle, and though ReCycle is a very good tool, I would love to avoid this step just because it takes time. ReCycle is fast, but:
Letīs do this slicing with a VSTi, for instant playing.
Therefor I can hardly wait for PhatMatik Pro, and I hope that it also can convert SDII-files.
(please...
)

enough, letīs check the new beta.

Thanks Bitshift...

okay Ive been testing the Phatmatik on a Mac using
cubase5/32 5.1r2pb and have found a couple of
problems.1st its very clicking when you export and
import a midi file.2nd if you turn on the master tempo once the phatmatik is loaded it creates a bizarre tempo and time signature which you have to
delete in the list master editor.3rd if you select
anything other than a rex type1 file you get an error message and you cannot cloes the page properly
and you have top force quit vst.4th the timing is
not on the money it seems very sloppy to me even
when quantized it was no where near the click track.I no this is a Beta so I thought I should report the these findings.
