Is there a VSTi out there that will allow one to play a loop or a full length song while adjusting the tempo or pitch in real time?
I'd like to mix my loops and songs similar to the way I currently do it in Acid Pro but at the same time have the option of adding custom tracks using my other VSTi's such as Pro-52, FM7, Junglist, etc. all in the same host. Dj Lawya

I'm not 100% sure that I understand what you want, but have you had a look at Cakewalk Sonar? Its supports acid loops and automatically time stretches them corresponding to the tempo of the track. It also has the ability to load in DXis and VSTis (via an adaptor).
I know it's not actually a VSTi, but it might be worth trying. [ 02 March 2002, 23:44: Message edited by: Dr Dave ]

As far as I know there are no VST plugins which do exactly what you're looking for, I hope someone can prove me wrong because that would be cool.
Although... Cakewalk Sonar will do what you are looking for as standard and will also support vsti's Or you could maybe use Recycle to make a loop and then save it out as a .REX file, there you can change the tempo in Cubase. Dan

Stylus VSTi works exactly this way with Groove Control and is far more flexible and better sounding than Acid or Live....but you're not able to use your own loops. Stylus can do this only with the large library of specially prepared loops inside the plug-in. Still it might be of interest to you:

battery can do this. if your host is set up right it'll allow you to stretch/ pitch your loops and samples either musically, or snapping to time.

i think phatmatikPro will be able to do that
for precussive stuff why not just use Recycle? rex the loop and import it into cubase (you can actually have each slice(or group) to its own mixer channel and apply Reverb to the snare , flange the hi-hat etc) but for non percussive stuff i gues you should just time-stretch it...I know its not as convinient as Sonar or Acid ...but it works..that is if your not too lazy |
