You could try this little program :

Plugin delay indicator for Cubase VST
http://mitglied.lycos.de/GonZoft/

"... (it) shows you the delay caused by one or more plugins inserted into a
Cubase VST channel or group. The delay is displayed in Cubase inspector units
(sixteenth notes and ticks). The purpose is to give you the exact information by exactly
how many inspector units you have to pre-delay (i.e. advance) the audio channels routed
to a group in order to compensate the total delay caused by all plugins inserted into
this group.

The momentarily plugins displayed by PlugInd are the Cubase VST included ones, FreeFilter
and the Waves Gold Bundle. Don't wonder if many plugins display a delay of 0.0, that's
because they just do not cause any relevant delay. You will also see that e.g. the
dynamics section of Cubase VST, FreeFilter and Waves compressors and pitchshifters cause
huge delays."

Also, you could use the MDA dynamics plugin as an insert effect as long as you have delay compensation selected. For some reason the delay compensation will work on nearly all the plugins on the insert tracks apart from the steinberg dynamics. There was a long article about why this happened in Sound on Sound recently but sorry, I can't remember which issue. Try a searh on the site:

Is there a way to avoid the audio delay I get every time I use dynamic fx on a audio track.
I now there is a delay compensation in audio options, but it does not seem to help.
I never use compressors in cubase because I get the track delayed, If I really need a track to be compressed I export it, and then compress it and Eq in SoundForge, but some times it is a bit annoying, because I'd like to group drums and base in Cubase and then compress it, and I don't want them exported into a single track!
Any help would be apreciated!
Thanks.
