Hi All,
For those who haven't noticed yet,FL have released a vsti version of their DX 10 generator. Like the Wasp vsti,it's free to those who have a registered copy the original FL version. It's rather nice. ![]()

Hey ....Great....
I was in the Fruity site this morning and it was not in my Fruity section yet .... As soon as i saw your post i went back and sure enough, There she is. I see that they have added the effects section to it ...Very Nice. I have used the Fruity Version for a while now in Fruity ... The GUI makes it so much nicer than the Freeware version to program ... Now we have all the onboard effects to look forward to and the fact that we can now use it in any Host. And the free to registered Fruity DX10 users is a nice Bonus. Okay ...Going to Try Now ... Um, I may just be confused, but hasn't this thing been available for a long time already? I'm pretty sure I have it installed on my machine already (I'm at work right now, so I can't check).

Don't seem to work with all my hosts though. Didn't work in Vaz 2001 or Muzys...
...but I'm told it was tested in Cubase...and of course it works in Fruityloops ![]()

quote:Hmmmmm, same thing here. I start Vaz 2001 vsti in Cubase but as soon as I load the DX 10 vsti it's a case of the "three fingered salute" to get out,it just lock's up completely. The Wasp vsti work's okay though.

the demo works fine in Orion, but this synth has something I don't like (it's the same for the Wasp VSTi) : it doesn't react to pitch bend !
And idem for the modulation wheel, but it's the case of many VSTi. It's cheap at first sight, but without pitchbend, I find it expensive.

My Finds so far....
Okay ... I Love this synth ....Why? Well it ain't no FM7 or anything even close ...but ...It is a Nice Bread and Butter FM Synth. It is only $ 20.00 to start with, What do ya get for $20.00 now a days. What's so cool about it that i like??? Well ...The onboard effects ...Every synth should have this. It adds a whole new element to the sound and the fact that the patch can be saved as presets makes it Quick and easy to create new sounds. (In the first release for some reason Orion would not save the effects settings properly, I see a new version has just been released that fixes some of the things you guys mentioned above...I will see if this also fixes the save settings in Orion ) The Onboard Paragraphic EQ is absolutely amazing to have as part of the synth sound. The EQ is capable of some wild settings, and for a built in EQ on a $20.00 synth, I can't believe how nice it is. Now this synth will never replace my Main Instruments ... Pentagon, CronoX or Gakstoar Delta, but i am sure enjoying programming some sounds on it that I know will get used. And No I don't work for Fruity ... I am a Paying Customer.... and a Happy One at that. I hope the Save settings thing gets resolved quickly. You can save proper Presets in Fruity but not properly in Orion.(This could also be an Orion Issue though) And to think ...we are going to see Fruity itself as a VSTi Soon ...Cool stuff. If you care to share some of them please mail them to info@pluginspot.com and we'll integrate them in the next update. See ya, jmc (Fruityloops)

Hi JMC
I would perhaps do so ....but I am still having a problem with preset saving in Orion. I posted on the Fruity Tech Support about it, but have not got a reply yet. Have you tried saving presets or songs in Orion to see what i mean? Thanks Paul

just a comment on Alex's post - you're loading up vsti's into vaz2001 (a vsti itself)? So am i right in assuming you can add one or more synths into vaz and have them all play along with vaz? If so, hope it makes it into the vsti vaz modular, which is hopefully coming out soon, cause you could do crazy things with that in a modular setting.

I have the Fruity version of this plug-in, but don't use Fruity as much these days. Hope the new version clears up problems with the Muzys host because I think the interface is great and the added effects a real bonus.
Fruity becoming a VSTi?? Outstanding! I hope Orion follow their lead. Caleb

quote:Yes it does. At least, I know I've implemented pitch bend support and I've tested it in FL and it works. I'll try it in Orion though (as soon as I find how to do a pitch bend there).

Reflex
As Per my posts above..... Can you please try this. In Orion take a preset for DX10 and turn the reverb dials all the way up. Now save the song. Reopen the song and the setting for Reverb is Not saved. This happens with all the FX. Any Fix for this? Thanks Paul

quote:Ok, I tried this. I changed some settings (reverb wheels all the way up), saved as an fxp and reloaded. The settings weren't loaded correctly. But then I loaded the same fxp into the DX10 VSTi in Fruityloops, and the settings were as they should be. The same goes for Cubase and Vaz2001. So it would seem this is more a problem with Orion Pro than with the DX10 VSTi. I could be wrong of course, but so far it looks that way. [ 18 March 2002, 12:22: Message edited by: reflex ] |
