The Lounge Lizard will be available in March of 2002.
So where is it? I want to try the demo version.

It's coming! I'm currently beta-testing it. It'll be worth the wait. Don't judge it by the sound of the demos on the AAS site. It sounds like the real deal! I'm hoping Tassman 3 isn't too far behind!

Well, I haven't actually seen it yet, and I'm not sure I'll be able to say too much when I do. I know there are some VERY cool additions, and the upgrade looks to be a free one for owners of the full version of 2.x. Fairly refreshing when it seems EVERYONE's charging big upgrade fees this season! All I can say, is I'm gonna get a laptop so I can do shows with the Tassman 3! I've been told we'll be beta-testing it when the Lizard is shipping. I can't wait. I think Tassman is one of the coolest synths out there, and seems to be fairly underused.

Hey Scott can you give us some info on how Lounge Lizard works? Is it like EVP where you select whatever piano model you want to load, and play with things from there. Or is it more like the Electric Piano in Tassman where everything has the same controls and you have to manually tweak each control to get that particular sound. Also if it does come with different models can you tell us what they are? Finally the site mentions a Tassman 3 upgrade for Sonar XL users, but it's not included in the latest Sonar release, is this still going on and will it also be free?

the Lizard would seem to be really good. We are becoming spolit for riches when it comes to decent EPiano plugins at the moment (with the exception of a hideous VSTi from a well known company), mda's epiano, epstation, and the prospects of lounge lizard all seem really promising.

Okay, first, the Lizard is essentially what you see in the screenshots at the AAS site (pretty, aint it). It's got presets which are modelled on the various classics. It's only got the one window from which you can edit the sounds and effects. I've played a lot of the real thing in my life, and this plug-in is on the money. Whether it appeals to you will depend on if you liked the ACTUAL sound of the real EPs better than the innacurate recreations we've been hearing for too many years. I can't compare it to the Emagic EP, as I've not used that one. The non-Logic crippled version was too expensive for me. As for the Tassman upgrade path, I'm not sure what it's going to be. The full version is free, I think, and there WILL be an upgrade path from the SONAR 1.xx version and Tassman SE to Tassman 3. Whatever it costs, it'll be worth it!
