Inspired in part by the recent glitch 202 kit, here are a couple of equally if not more off the wall sound kits. They may only be of use to a select few who like digital noise and sound artifacts, so don't go mad with me if you find them unusable.
synthetic_treasure SR-202 kit #1 (1.33mb) synthetic_treasure SR-202 kit #2 (1.57mb) The sounds are all taken from a sample cd I did last year called synthetic treasure when I thought I would try my hand at some sound designing, needless it wasn't a great success. If you fancy a look at it you can find a web site I did for it here at my sample cd page. stephen

Kosmonaut...
I no longer have the SR-202 installed, but I DO use the DR008, and I hear there's a conversion modulae available, so I'm going to give them a go. If the "drumkithit sequence" on your site is any indication, they're going to be lethal! By the way, your CD actually looks pretty tasty, and I might have to add that to my short-term shopping list! Fellow cosmonaught Scott,
If you manage to get the conversion module to work I hope you like the kits. Does it convert the sample settings aswell? E.G. bit depth, transposition , filter settings etc, I did use them quite a bit on most samples. So if the conversion module just extracts the .WAV's the kits might not sound so good, then again they might sound better! Glad you liked "drumkithit sequence" . stephen

We've definately talked with Fxpansion about a conversion module, discussed details of the SR202 file format a while back....Angus?
Don't forget to tell CM about your kits - they have a new section on their site just for this sort of thing. Kind regards Dave Muon Software Ltd www.muon-software.com

Caleb Blake quoth Hey, while we're mentioning SR202, I think this is an interesting little freebie from MUON and Computer Music, but it doesn't accept velocity for notes does it?
Yes it does; my glitch kit makes thorough use of the velocity sensitivity; in the SR202 velocity can indpendently affect pitch, the filter, and the VCA. However quite a few kits Ive tried from the CM disks don't make use of it all; I used an SR202 acoustic kit on A Loaded Gun, but had to set the velocity responses for all the sounds I used; everything was at zero.

Hmmmm; Kosmonauts kits are up on the CM site, but my glict kit isn't yet. Red; have you changed your mind?

It didn't seem to last time I was playing with it which kind of pissed me off because I like the idea of these nice kits floating around for me to use and the machine is a handy little one to throw a drum kit in there without using a sampler. I guess I shouldn't complain really, I have some nice .sf2 and AKAI kits as well. Maybe I can just convert the kits to those formats instead and then I don't have to worry about it at all....hmmm I feel better already. Still thought the SR202 was a nice freebie though, but then MUON do some pretty ACE stuff! Did you like that? I said ACE. I'm getting too old. Caleb |
