AuthorTopic: Help identifying elusive synth sound

Hi,

I've been trying to emulate a synth sound on several musical applications (including NI FM7) but so far I havenīt achieved it (maybe because i'm a complete newbie Smile.

Can somebody please hear this two small samples and try to help me? I extracted it from two tracks which feature the sound. It's the smooth, endless sustainy synth sound. On file nš 2 you can hear it increasing in volume.

Here is the link (click on the sample or download to hear):

Any resource with a vst or other plugin similar to this sound would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Both of the pad drones in the clips sound like vox/choir samples to me, so either a sampler or a rompler patch is my bet on what that is. [Smile] Patches like that are in pretty common use really.

You could, however, come close to something like that with Fm7, probobly by doing a "chord pad" but only if you stack the intervals right and set up the modulation matrix to get close to the sound.. It still isn't going to sound quite as warm and fuzzy as the examples you post though.
