Anyone used allready the new EMU SoundFontPlayer for SB/APS SoundCards? I asked EMU for some stuff and they never wrote me back: Will this SoundFontPlayer be able to play on all 16 Midi channel, and edit each channel on the program? Like this, on Channel 1 I got a Piano with settings I made on the Player. Channel 2 got a bass with other settings. And all I can edit on the Player and save as a CFG/INI file. If the program won't do that, what's the point anyway? And no DEMO version?
Any info is apreciated. Thanxs. | |

I don't know exactly, but I think if EMU makes a soundfont player, you can expect, that this is like their hardware. They have made the EMU 8000 chip on all SB soundcards and this is the quasi standard for sound fonts.

If you read the introduction carefully, you get the impression, this is a quick "replacement" for the full featured Vienna Sound Font Editor, witch is delivered with all (pro)SB cards including the EMU chip.
I think you can quickly map your soundcards memory with this and play it for control (not so in deep details). After this, you can play your soundcard like "normal" via your sequencer. It is only an control pannel for the hardware in my opinion. Nothing additional. |
