Is this a heavy metal flute or what????
Here it's having a strange distortion sound.

Downloads/installs ok here but if you are expecting a flute, kinet got it right with quote: ![]()

Kriminal, Sorry about the mail links on the site...problems at the host's mail server. I checked the download link though and it's working.
Kinet - maybe I should rename it dmiMetalFlute. It kinda sounds more like feedback guitar at times.

Works fine, cheers, got a good flute sound too! ![]()

I like the sound of it too, but it acts a bit funny here and there. IE. when adjusting knobs while playing sometimes the sound stops.
also, when the vibrato slider is all the way to the left there is no sound at all. BTW--i use OrionPro ver 2.75. Hope this helps out some, i really appreciate the effort at this!! Doug

Thats a damn interesting plug you got there. Works smooth in Massiva.
May I suggest some initial param values: - Res = 0% - Cutoff = 40% I also noticed how the sound changes a lot when I play. You are not hiding any cool params from us are you? jorgen
| Kriminal | Posted: 29th April 2002 13:33 |
sometimes the vol shoots up a bit on long notes.

yeah, I like this a lot, a real dirty flute, like Ian Anderson maybe (Jethro Tull). I would like to see it respond to pitch bend, and maybe envelope parameters, the release is very abrupt.
But I think its a great start, I love PM stuff.

Hmmmmmm,
Ok - free plugin - thanx. Sounds fuck all like a flute though! Sounds like a tone deaf asthmatic with no fucking teeth blowing across a metallic milk bottle through a distortion pedal! Tassman 5 - lmao Love Reg ![]()

Hehehehehe. Nice comparison Reg.
I like this little thing but it doesn't sound too much like a flute - especially in the first octave. However, I've found that if I run this flute through a reverb and cut the dry signal altogether it sound quite nice. But there are some weird things going on with this flute. The vibrato/tremolo seems to go to an extreme for no apparent reason and you get an almost stuttering effect. Really weird. Caleb

Oooooh I forgot to mention. As it is at v0.002, I don't think a final assessment can be made on this little one. By the time it gets to v1.0 it could have evolved quite significantly.

quote:Actually, its quite good if you take a bit of time to mess about with it. i got some good flute whistle sounds from it, just got to down load some Jethro Tull MIDI files now... ![]()

As someone else allready said, I'd like to see some sort of ADSR thing on that flute (well, actually A and R would be enough for me).
Also, if it were up to me, I'd like some control for the "overblowing" parameter - I'd love having it on my ModWheel (right now it's only somewhat controllable via velocity). Then, pitchbend (for manual vibratos) and polyphony would be nice as well (for some bigband or "70s soft porno funk" style flute section, heh...). And oh, I'd like a more "tame" setting too. Oh well, I almost fogot it's for free - so thanks anyways. Cheers, Sascha

doogie bouy,
I'm very sure marc will give you a hand if you'd ask him. He's done zillions of mac builds for mac-less people... You can contact him at destroyfx@smartelectronix.com BTW: love da flute. A bit of the old verb on it and you're rocking. I'm a classical flutist myself... Bram.
