where the hell has all the creativity gone???absynth has the most amazing patch remix capabilities if you take the time to learn it why would you want or even have the balls to use a bank or patch made by someone else???nomatter how good the track will come out there will always be that little part of you thatll keep telling you its not fully yours.

Yes, but hearing the work of others can spawn new ideas of your own and sometimes it's nice to have many starting points for your custom editing.

the thing is - it's only more productive to use other peoples sounds as starting points if that's what they are - starting points - and you go on to evolve and develop them yourself.

if, however, you spend the majority of your time just surfing for more starting points - you'll never find the EXACT sound you are listening for.

make do with evolving the presets you have, i say.

Yeah people are spoilt nowadays !!
When NI will ever release Reaktor, Absynth, or FM7 naked : no ensembles, no presets, patchs ... and no manuals !! but NI people are neither smart nor hardcore ...
Csound DOS should be the only music making instrument allowed !!!
And when you think of all the morons who used 1 preset tool : so far a violin makes violin sounds ??

"Classic" instruments don't come in numbers, It takes ability / affinity / genius / genetics to master the most tricky of them ... to build something out of some of them, another realm ...

Todays, we are given tools that can fry an after work brain to ashes, and guidances are very welcome ... to understand ( if you can / want to ) and master ( if you can / time + ego also help ) anyway as a consumer and I deeply hope ... one day as a maker, my only concern is the end product ...
Who's the smartass that can go : hey you big time sucker, you used 3 seconds of preset X of Absynth at 1 mn : 33 s !!!

right here is why presets are cool..

lets face it most people get the crack of x software right? and those people [god damn them] need something to show themselves and thier mothers what is possible.

think about it like this. you wouldn't buy a porcshe if you hadn't seen one driving as fast a fuck in a film or seen a buff guy cruising around with some mint chick rubbing herself up against him in one right. so you need to see (or hear) what is potentially possible and if you don't have then manual which most of us don't, you need presets.

the main reason i like synths is because they have more knobs then my girlfriend has.

if you are so stupid you can`t seem to get the knobs work, or if you are so uncreative you cannot get a cool sound out of it yourself, i suggest you fu%#&&g leave this site and go practise on this you moran :
