AuthorTopic: Finally tried Angelina

Well, I finally got around to installing the demo of Angelina on my computer.

Let me think - roughly 1 minute later I bought it.

[Big Grin]

It's so lush and cozy it makes me want to drift away. I still think it sounds very little like people but who the hell cares. I love pad sounds like this, they slowly tease you from behind all the music making you want to see what heaven is really like.

Yep - Angelina is a bloody good name for it because it produced the sound that angels make.

BLOODY
GOOD
STUFF

Nuff said.

Yeah, great toy, but what's the limitation in the demo exactly? I HAVE TO KNOW!!!!

I like this synth too. To me it sounds a bit harsh though -like a mellotron. Are there any plans on smoothing out the sound so it sounds more sharp with glass like choirs?

Thanks CB for the nice comments,

The demo simply has saving and automation disabled.

Glass-like sounds... hmm... Have you tried playing around with the "granular" knob a bit ? I'll try to make a short mp3 and post it here.

Hello Big Tick,
I listned to your demo. I like your synth and all but I still think it would be better if it could be more sharp, like a crystal clear choir. It sounds a bit fuzzy. Am I making sense to anyone or it may just be me.

Turning off the breath control and granular helps to ease this fuzzyness.

Im no sound techy guy but I think its the ossilators.

I agree with JROCC.Angelina makes very nice pads but I was expecting a more realistic choir sound like the Oooohs and Ahhhs we are all familiar with from various hardware synths/soundfonts.It has a very unique sound and I love the formant morphing.I was just a little disappointed in the basic waveforms.Still Angelina is a great deal. On the otherhand she's a dirty, filthy, little
angel....and I love her for it. [Big Grin] Honestly,
I liek the fuzzywuzzyness. If I want clean
choirs, I'll use FM or any of the multitude
of sampled choirs out there.

I think this is a wonderful softsynth and a very nice concept. It has a character which fits nicely to Phil Spector type of arrangements for example. I hope the concept will expand further, it would be nice with even more depth and definition to the sounds.

To tell you the truth. one of the first things I noticed about Angelina was that it didn't sound realistic at all.

But I had come to grips with that a long time ago.

I bought it because it produces a wonderful, surreal pad sound. And I love pads.
