A few days ago I played a JP-8000 and I was really impressed with its sounds. Could anyone tell me if there is any vsti that simulates that incredible sounds? Thanks

maybe NI Pro-52 (53 soon), TC Mercury, maybe..

if you´re up to some warm pads try Cheeze Machine from Big Tick:

Short answer: NO.

Long answer: YES.

'Simulating' existing hardware is extremely expensive because of obvious copyright restrictions. Roland and Korg and Yamaha and co. are not going to allow every VSTi developer who comes around to 'copy' their sounds and release a software that does for 100 bucks what their hardware does for $1,000... [Wink]

But there are dozens of superb quality VSTi's that produce just as good (and oftentimes much better) sounds than a JP8000. I have a JP8080 (the more advanced, rack version of the JP8000), and I found that Pentagon from rgcAudio and DeltaIII from linplug easily exceed the JP's quality. Of course, you'll have to slap a few effects on top, but then so does the JP (and the Roland's effects are pisspoor compared to dozens of free VSTe's).

In the free department, check out Crystal, rgcAudio's Triangle, and linplug's Alpha. Quite frankly, if you know how to program a synth, even these freebies will kick the JP's ass (although Triangle is monophonic). Crystal, in particular, is a synth that's free only because the author (Glenn, don't read this) must be slightly retarded... [Razz]
