What do you guys think about the Jason Synth's?

I love FreeSonic and Nin!ja. I can't get the Rebel2 to download right now because the link is broken or something. I've been playing around with FreeSonic and Nin!ja for about 6 months now and I'm looking foward to the KlangFormer.

My problem with FreeSonic is that it won't render right. It's a pain in the ass because I love the sounds, but if it won't render the right way... it's useless [Frown]

There was a bug fix for Ninja, it was a beta written specifically for Orion Pro.

Rebel sounds good, it's harsh like Ninja and Freesonic but depending on how you program it you can get some cool atmospheric sounds along with good leads and basses. It came in a lite version that was monotimbral and regular mode that was polytimbral. I liked it and bought the lite version.

I haven't experienced the problems rendering to audio discussed above....

Since Jason doesn't seem to be around or answering emails I wouldn't mind sending out the single timbral version, the other version was 16 channel meltitimbral, the only difference.

It's a great synth.

Since it's now free although not possible to download (404 file not found) it's hard to tell. If Jason says it's ok to give folks the program I'll help out.

I have the monotimbral version but would like the fully polyphonic version. OTOH I don't want to invalidate my license in cse Jason decides to allow people who purchased Rebel to upgrade....

It's a quandry, I just want to stay ethical on this.

I have the Orion version of Ninja to trade and would love to try Rebel but as x-bruce points out this may be a sticky situation.I'm fairly sure the distribution of any !j synth without permission is forbidden or at least frowned upon by Jason. On the other hand they are supposed to be freeware so I'm not sure where to stand on this subject.I prefer not to break any EULA's,laws or moral codes. What's a boy to do?

yeah, to heck with 'em. if they don't wanna do more development on the really great synths they made I don't care, just as long as I got my copy [Smile]

though I would dig a little better cpu usage, but that's allright.

Ninja was the only synth that wasn't free. I forgot file sizes and will need to search a bit for install files but email me x_bruce@yahoo.com.

The site said they were free, they were released as free and Jason seems to not be around. I don't feel weird about sending Freesonic or Ninja or it's Orion version. I just don't wnat to be distributing to this board so people will have to share some of the files individually.

Since I paid for a licences on Rebel I won't distribute that, this is my choice, should there be a Rebel 3 or crossgrade I don't want to invidate it.

X-bruce,did you mean Rebel was the only synth that wasn't free? Both versions of Ninja were free if I remember correctly.I think I read something about the link to the(now)freeware version of Rebel being restored when Klangformer is finished.Sometime in Sept. if I 'm not mistaken.Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.I can wait until then for Rebel.By the way I put a bank of patches for Ninja-Orion in the patch section here at KVR if anyone wants to check them out. Rebel used to cost $50 for the lite version and $100 for the multitimbral version.

I read on the site that Rebel was going to be free. Perhaps I was wrong. In any case there was supposed to be an update to Rebel 3. Maybe Klangformer is the update. Like I said above, I have no idea if Rebel is ok to transfer around.

Whether the other free synths are an issue remains to be seen but I don't think giving free synths to someone else when links to the free synths do not work at the distributor's site is bad.
