AuthorTopic: Akai Import- VSampler versus Sampletank

I'm interested in your experiences loading Akai format sample banks in both VSampler and Sampletank. Hits? Misses? Likes? Dislikes?

I've already committed to ordering Sonic Synth before the summer special ends- it's too good of a deal to pass up.

That said, I'm weighing the advantages/disadvantages of purchasing Sampletank DJ ($99 closeout at Musician's Friend) or VSampler 2.7x ($49 from Cakewalk).

I'd like to hear from owners of both products and your experiences with loading Akai sample sets. I'd appreciate any information you can share.

I remember Vsampler users saying that envelopes were not imported with Akai's. I'm not sure if this applied to both filter and amp enevelopes or just one or the other, but it does seem like a pain. On the other hand you could always just fix it manually in VSampler, the problem with ST in this case would be that you can't go in and fix any screwey imports, so you'd be stuck using them.
