Hi there, again!

I want to know how to use the sustain pedal of my MIDI controller on VSTi´s in Fruity Loops.

Peace,

Pete

Hi ...

Fruityloops doesn't natively support sustain messages (MIDI CC#64), so you have to do it manually like this:

1. Open your VSTi in an effects channel
2. Select a unique Port for the VSTi
3. Create a MIDI Out channel
4. Select the matching Port for the MIDI Out channel
5. Configure one of the knobs (or the sliders) to be MIDI CC#64
6. Link the controller to your sustain pedal

Done! Now when you press down your sustain pedal, the MIDI knob will be set to 127, and when you release, it will be back at 0. These messages will be turned into MIDI CC#64 (sustain) for the VSTi you're using.

As a general rule, it's always a good idea to open your VSTi's in an effects channel. This way you have the option to assign MIDI controllers with less hassle. Either that, or use Fruityloops as a VSTi inside Cubase SX and not worry about the MIDI routing of your VSTi's at all!
