AuthorTopic: beta testers for daOrgan MAC needed
Peter from LinPlug
Posted: 26th August 2002 15:03
Hi Macs,

we could need a few more Mac freaks to check out our daOrgan beta before we can let you buy it Very Happy So if you have some time and backuped your system lately Wink , please check out

www.linplugserver3.de/daOrganDemoInstaller.sit

Thats how it looks (ok, its bigger in real life)

We checked that baby and its pretty stable here, however, beta testing is on your own risk. Please let me know any probs and comments at betatest@linplug.com or here.

Best Regards

Peter

Hi,Peter...nice to see daOrgan for Mac!Smile
There are a couple of issues on my G3/400 though, and the behaviour is identical both in Cubase VST/32_5.1 and in LAP 4.8.1
The first seems fairly harmless...upon selecting a new preset, an alert box opens, with the message "Instrument Load Error...format mismatch OFFV Order 0", after which the preset seems to load correctly anyways!
The second problem seems more serious however. The oscillator driving the Rotary Speaker is extremely flaky! It needs a lot of juggling with the speed and depth controls before it will agree to "kick in" (I'm completely familiar with the acceleration parameters..the problem is not *there*Smile. Once I've managed to get the "speaker" rotating, the fast/slow buttons work fine...unless I then hit the "off" button,or select a new preset..it is then more-or-less impossible to get either the slow or fast buttons to work again, and no amount of knob-twiddling seems to wake it up again!...at least until I close and then reopen the plugin.
On the other hand, at least it has never crashed in either Logic or Cubase:-)
