AuthorTopic: Fruity problem with PlasticZ

I've bought PlasticZ but am having trouble with the presets. I've got it loaded in Fruity, but when I want to save a sound I can only save it as a "Fruityloops state file" .fst format. This isn't too good for a start, but even worse, I can't figure out how to load the sound back in again.

I can successfully modify one of the presets and resave it (wiping out the original) in a single instance, but that isn't much use either.

I contacted reFX support, but they just say that saving sounds and banks is a host issue and they aren't familar with Fruity.

So does anyone know how I can:

- save a preset in Fruity and recall it
- save a new bank of patches so I can email it to other users

Funnily enough I can save and reload fine in the much maligned VSTi operation of AcidPro4 !

Saving fxp/fxb in Fruity for PlastiCZ is exactly the same as it is for any other VSTi. It sounds like your real problem is that you've never done it before.

1. Go to the menu inside the Wrapper. It's the grey arrow pointing down at the top left.

2. Choose "Export Cubase bank..." or "Export Cubase preset..." as applicable.

I just tested it here, and it works just fine for PlastiCZ, as it does for the other VSTis I use.

To load a preset or bank, the option is in the same menu.

Why can't you store channel state? Recalling it - is dropping it on the channel from the brower.

If you are talking about .fxb cubase banks - yeah, you have to overwrite standard patches to create new banks. But that is never a problem - you simply save the default bank as a .fxb

Stupid me thought the option to save a preset might be linked to Fruity's "save preset as" button. Absurd of course.

And yeah, you're right about not doing it this way before: I've only used Absynth & Kontakt and a few other bigger devices which don't work this way. I suppose I got worred when reFX said they didn't know !

Thanks for the help!
