AuthorTopic: Automation works but not with controller

If one uses an external midicontroller, say a midikeyboard with knobs on it, is it possible to get the data to register on the VST instrument automation using "write" in SX, instead of having to record it to the track itself and thus not beeing able to manipulate it afterwards ( except in the sysex editor )?
The VSTi automation registers the same data fine if it is applied thru the mouse and the software interface instead of the external controller.
this is my problem.

Anyone have a clue?

Do note here that the VSTi responds as it should to all changes via my external controller but its only the automation that doesnt register it.. I can see the knobs on the screen move and all . What is the difference from using the external controller to make the knob turn or using the mouse on teh screen to do the same thing? it bloody works to automate with the mouse but not with the controller.
