Hi ik
Yes, I've tried your synth, and I find the overall sound quite good, nice and warm.
But: I've got a Pentium 4 and I'm getting the usual bug (cpu spikes on note off). But I'm sure you can fix such a thing (or is it a H'ik'up on purpose Razz )
The other thing worth looking into is making the perc noise monophonic (like a real hammond) and the rotary effect seems too wide.
A part from that It seems to be a promising organ.
Well done and "VIVE SynthEdit"

Matt

Thanks!
I'll do those changes... H'ik's Embarassed on P4? Hmmm I don't have those
on my AthlonXP.
Anyone knows where is it coming from? Any hint to fix this in SE?

Hey Ik, any chance of making a Vox Continental or Farfisa organ emulation? I'd love a good combo organ VSTi. I'm checking this one out right now.

Just tried it out, and it doesn't sound quite like a hammond at all, but has a very toyish sound to it. Might be worth keeping around just for that reason Smile .

Sounds nice but it's heavy on the CPU. In Orion ZR3 = 10% Dirtbag = 40% is it Synthedit? Most of them seem a bit hungry...
I agree someone should make a Farfisa, or a maybe a Yamaha.

I'm getting some hics and scratchiness, too.

Single voices sound fine, but chords sound noisy.

But when it sounds good, it sounds good. I like it.

Yeah, why is that there's B3 clones out the wazoo, but no one's
come up with a decent Farfisa or Vox. I should think that,
theoritically at least, a combo organ should be much easier to emulate than a drawbar?? Gonna give this one a try anyhow, cuz I love
playing er, um....organs!! Just tried Cockgaine's Phibes and
thought it was quite nice. But yeah, someone PLEASE whip
a nice cheezy Farfisa or Vox Continental!!

Cheers.....CL Embarassed

Hey ik,
In SE there is a denormal detector and a denormal fixer (denormals are the cpu spikes). Put them at the end of the audio path (right before the audio out on the i/o).

Peace!

Thanks kalkin, and all!
I'll try that denormal fix. Unfortunately I do not have those spikes
on Athlon XP so kinda hard to test. For Vox or Farfisa?
Aren't these organs based on transistors, where bistabile multivibrators
generated the tones? If so, those based on square waves...
Doesn't sound so difficult but I'll need some help to get the sound right.

Wierd:
On my Athlon XP 1.4GHz, using Chainer as a host, I got 5% with no notes
down, ~ 20% cpu usage with 8 notes down. I don't know what's going on with P4s(?). With Denormal Fixer the cpu usage jumped to 65% Evil or Very Mad Question
See Dirtbag 1.2 soon....
