There should be three files with the same name, these are the instrument and files needed for sampletank to see it. If you don't remove all three there may be problems so be careful.

Post this in the Sampletank/Sonic Synth section, you'll get a quick response there.

Hey there is absolutly no problem in modifying the sample tank sounds folder.

You can cut copy and paste ..delete..whatever you like. Infact you can more or less treat it as any normal folder withen your computer.

But remeber the ST sounds are read using three seperate files. *.stw *.sti and *.sth.

When moving or organizing...remember the three files for any given sound must be kept together for the file to work. So if you wanna archive some sounds on CdR for example make sure you put together all three.

By the way the large file with all the actual samples is the *.stw one. If you want to save hard disk space but wanna keep the name of the instrument withen sample tank then just remove the *.stw and keep the other two. All they hold is settings so they are fairly tiny.

Cheers.
