I'm not sure why your VST parts aren't coming through, but you may have problems exporting the midi parts , depending on what they're triggering.
(1) If your midi parts are triggering VSTis *only* , then you should be good to go. (2) If your Midi parts are triggering the midi synth on your soundcard, then Cubase has no way of exporting that stuff to a .wav The only instance I can think of where (2) can be worked around is if you have an SBLive or Audigy card using the kx drivers. In that case, you can route the midi parts into ASIO inputs to cubase. They will then appear in your cubase mixer and you can apply VST fx to them. BTW - You might find you'll get better quality help if you tell us what version of Cubase you're using (SX? VST24 R5.1? etc) cheers, scuzz.

When you are on the export page what have you selected?
At the top there are two choices: I think one is selected parts and the other is between locators. It is possible to screw this up and end up will an empty wave file. I know coz I've done it. Also it tracks are muted you won't get any data on export.

ok....Ive selected -bween locators-. all my parts are unmuted and I can hear my song smoothly.

Now when you export to Audio, do you get anything?
I don't want to insult you with simple advice, but hav eyou got this workig before? If not... When Cubase bumps tracks to audio it then puts that wav file into your song. Check to see what channel it is on...

I don't know if this helps but there is a cool free plugin available called TapeIt from Silverspike that enables you to record any mix to wave - you just insert it as an effect and click record - its sometimes simpler than fiddling around with settings in some of the more over-complex beasts produced by some companies and does also enable you to record mixes in demos (when you're not really supposed to try - www.silverspike.com |
