I upgraded to the Pro 53. However, I notice my Pro 52 still appears. Can I delete it. Or does the Pro 53 rely on files of the Pro 52?

You should be able to delete it, but you may want to keep it around for a few more days in case any Pro-53 bugs show up and you want to use that synth.

please keep in mind that apparently the pro52 is not able to load pro53 preset files (pretty obvioux actually). i'm pretty sure the pro53 is however able to load pro52 presets...

We decide to install the Pro-53 beside of the Pro-52 because some sounds (especially when they work intentional with aliasing) doesn't sound the same anymore when you use them in the Pro-53. So if you use the Pro-52 in an old projekt, you can be sure, that it still sound the same.

But if you are sure, that you need not the Pro-52, you can delete it with one exception: The "mystery" file in the Pro-52 folder is still needed (but you can move it in another directory, in this case at the next startup the Pro-53 will ask you after the new position).

Bye,
Steffen

Steffen, with the new password system, at least for the upgrade version, do I need to keep the CD available? For some reason Pro 52 used to demand the CD in order to work.

You need the CD only when you run updates. The sporadic requests while using are removed.

will cubase songs that used the pro-52 automatically use the pro53? with the correct patch? (leaving aside for now whether the patch itself will sound the same on the 53)

thanks

Thanks Steffen,

the sound quality is top notch. To be honest I'd lost interest to a degree but Pro 53 will see a lot more use.

No, for Cubase the Pro-52 and the Pro-53 are two completly different plugins. You must save the used preset in the Pro-52, replace the Pro-52 with the Pro-53 and load the preset in the Pro-53.

thanks, I should have guessed that from the fact that both could be installed at once.
