AuthorTopic: Any Giga/Soundfont Users Out There?

I recently noticed that there are specialized Gigasampler soundfonts listed on the Sonic Implants site. I also remembered that I have a copy of Gigasampler 24, which came bundled with my M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard.

So my questions are:

1) Are Giga sampler SF's better-sounding or -performing than standard SF2's?

2) If I used Giga 24 for it's SF's how easy would it be to connect to the Fruity SF Player? Or does Giga have it's own SF player and sequencer?

Thanks . . .

samples in the .gig are not inherently better sounding that soundfonts, but because the Giga streaming technology offers virtually unlimited size to sample developers, Giga tends to boast the best high-end acoustic emulations, orchestral samples, pianos, acoustic drums.
Higher prices, too. Some Gigapianos have 88keys sampled at 8 different velocities and take up over a Gigabyte. They sound wonderful.

I've heard many good soundfonts, but because they are associated with Creative soundcards, people tend to view them as amateurish.

Gigastudio reads soundfonts, but oftentimes people like Sonic Implants will do different versions for Giga and .sf2s to take advantage of the unique abilities of Giga.
