No! Absynth is not good for natural sounds like piano or sax!

Sampletank/Sonic Synth always the best bet for this.

Squids will tell you what the brass sounds are like in the new 4th disc of SS, the piano there is outstanding. The sax I've heard on the AMG Brit Horns demo is very good too.

There are one or two attempted Absynth piano patches (and probably some saxes too) here:

The guys on the mailing list usually have lots of good advice, re: programming new patches.

If you want 100% "real" sounding pianos or saxes, then obviously only high-quality samples will do it. If you want "synth" piano or sax sounds, Abysnth can do it.

Hmmm, I remember some of the absynth presets being much more natural sounding than what I´ve heard on any other vsti, and some were also wind instruments. Dunno for sure about the piano. Personally I never figured how to program this fellow, and especially had problems defining sounds with a harder attack, making it sound like more than a pad, but my impression was, that in absynth there are endless possiblities for he/she who´s got lotsa patience.
So I can´t help you with how to, but I´m sure it can be done.
Of course you can also do it with the sample players, and definately with a beautiful result - SS samples are of a veryvery high quality.
But, if you already have absynth.. Smile

Correction:

Saying that certain absynth presets sound more natural than any vsti I´ve heard wasn´t excactly what I wanted to say.
I ment the characterists of the sounds in terms of being made by a synthesizer, but if searching for particular acoustic instruments, it will always be hard of course to beat a sampleplayer playing a multilayered high quality sample.

Yes, for natural sounds is a sample player the first choice! Not a "real" Synth like Absynth Smile
