AuthorTopic: Anybody got a dx7?

I want to find out how deep the pitch modulation from the LFO can be. If the PM sensitivity and PM depth are both on full, how many semitones (approx.) is the modulation.

Also can anyone explain the difference between PM depth and PM sensitivity. From my understanding both these controls are global (ie. not per operator ) so they will amount to the same thing. Any ideas?

I'm working on an FM VSTi and want to get a better idea of how the dx7 did these things. It's going to be free so please help out Smile If you want to work on the coding or GUI then let me know.

If I remember right PM depth sets the minimum pitch modulation applied unimpressed from the mod-wheel/aftertouch/breathcontroller... while Pitch Modul Sensitivity sets the overall sensitivity of the voice to pitch modulation like a multiplier. I'm not sure if this is interesting for you but the FS1R is providing a PMS parameter for every operator...

It might help if you download the Manuals from the Yamaha Manual Library...
