AuthorTopic: Analogue Synth wizards? Pentagon & Reason help!

I'm trying to recreate some nice sounding patches I've got for Reasons Subtractor in Pentagon 1 to see if they sound better (Phatter!) but am not really getting very close. I think it's to do with Subtractors waveform subract and multiply options which produce different waveforms but I'm unsure of exactly what waveforms it is producing as a result. Is pentagon capable of reproducing fairly closely anything that Subtractor can produce or am I flogging a dead horse here. I appreciate that all synths sound a bit different and have their own characteristics but I thought Pentagon would be moer than able to cope. I'm sure it's down to my small but growing knowledge of analogue synthesis.

If anyone thinks they can help and can be arsed with my rather specific help request I could post more details of the patches perhaps in exhange for the final result.

By the way they are all Trance sounding patches.

Cheers

Thanks. Thats a good link. Some really interesting stuff, need some more time to read the rest. It's as much an experiment for me, recreating Subractor patches in Pentagon so I can judge for myself if it sounds better. I still find subtractor really easy to use and get some really good patches mainly from reason.net but there don't seem to many for Pantagon for download of the sort of sounds I like.

Thanks again.
