Sorry, but Iīm not so glad with them.

SFPlay has a very thin sound with all soundfont that I tested in it - itīs always not the original sound of the soundfont (I tested that comparing the sound when loading the same soundfont into the SBLive).

Fontaminator often crashes Logic 5.2 when loading a soundfont into it. And when I succeeded to load one, I can select what SF2-program I want, there is always the same sound (prg.no. 1 piano).

Esef is o.k. so far, I didntīt had problems with it yet.

Whoa!

Back up!

What are these things again? Fontaminator and SF Play? Are these soundfont players you say? Or am I misreading here?

I did shoot over to Odo's webpage, but from what I've read, it looks like synth. Please explain, as I love soundfonts and would dig a player with some neat wav-mangling features in it.

Very Happy heehee Very Happy ... you NEED fontaminator then ... does exactly what you said on the tin Wink ... still in beta but should work fine ...

... also got esef available ... more of a vanilla .sf2 player with a bypassable state-variable filter and amp section ...

... head on over to http://www.experimentfour.co.uk to take a look ...

A heads-up for Rob...

Just got a batch of new soundfonts to mangle, so I thought I'd try 'em out with the latest versions of esef, fontaminator (and sfplay too).

But I happened to notice that there are dead links on the K-v-R instrument pages for Rob's stuff. (Something to do with the site redesign?) I got there eventually, but just thought I'd let you know. Wink

Rob and Odo, thanks for these great freebies. I'll try and give feedback once I've had time to play with them.

Now, on to my mangling. Very Happy

Kim, to be honest: Iīm using Magix MidiStudio2003, which is a licenced Logic 5.2 clone (but much cheaper). But because not many people know that Iīm telling the corresponding LA version number. And for that reason I canīt update it to Logic 5.5.
