Looks cool Z, how does it sound, and whatcha pay for it? I really dig the Oberheim sound, my local GC had an OB8 that I'd just have a blast playing with whenever I was up there (too bad I couldn't afford it).

I paid $1800 for it and it looks like it was made in 2002. There's hardly a scratch anywhere, and even the woodworks is great! I still have problems believing it's 18 years old.

And for the sound? Well, phat. Really phat. Totally phat. It's like nothing I've experienced before. Every single patch just screams with fatness - it's like every other synth is just a pale comparison to it. I love it to death already and I've only owned it for 10 hours Smile

This is the rolls-royce of all synths. The best ever made. You're very lucky indeed Smile

Hey I know someone who is selling one of those.... and a Waldorf Microwave actually.

That image on the link was courtesy of Kevin Lightner. He used to work on my Serge and other assorted analog beasts.

Another interesting factoid... Marcus Ryle developed the Matrix 12 and XPander. He is also the one who created the original SampleCell and Alesis Quadrasynth (hence the re-use of the "matrix" modulation). Back then his company was called fast forward but now he has a company called Line 6. Now if he could combine a Matrix 12 with a Pod all in one, that would be impressive. Wink

Have fun with that Xpander, Z!
