Hi people
Do you guys know the sound "Flying Waltz" whích is in, among other synths, the Roland JV-1080? I remember once trying to figure out how itīs made, and at the end it turned out to be quite simple. Iīm just too lazy to find out again, so I was just wondering if anyone had already programmed that sound on any VSTI synth, or would spend no more than a minute explaining how to make it? Donīt spend more please, Iīll make the sound myself in 10-20 minutes. I guess though, that itīs far from all vstis that can do this.. Youīd need for oscs and two arpegiators, as far as I remember. Ok, I hope you can help me! Kind Regards Roman Empire PS: Itīs pretty much of an early 90īs sound, and I can only remember one song from 2002 that has got it - Cristian Castro - Azul (hispanic world top 10 tune) <-- there itīs the first thing you hear.

Hi Roman...glad you like that one!
I did that sound on the JV with inverted LFOs on different layers....did that trick on some of the Atmosphere sounds too! best, spectrum

Liked the sound or the song? Itīs a preset in my JV actually, and I hope itīs not that hard to find a vsti that can do it. JV, despite its sound sometimes being a bit too recognizable, but of course very easy to make sitting well in a mix, had some really nice ways of building sounds because of the many oscilators (is it called that too when itīs actually samples being played back?) and that each of them had their own filters, panning etc.. If vstīs could be set to control eachother, like a modular synth, that would be the way to easily do things like flying waltz with any vst, but I guess weīll have to wait for such luxury Thanks! I think you may find that Spectrum means he programmed the original preset for the JV...

Gosh! Thanks rabbit!
Sorry Spectrum that I didnīt get that. Yeah, indeed I like it.. itīs the kind of sound that is so much more intelligent than so many other sounds, very original and outstanding because of its moving character, sounds to me like a fountain of velvet and gold in slowmotion (and Iīm not really a poetic person, thatīs just the way it is Kind Regards Roman Empire

I think you Spanish guys are a good deal better at the poetic phrase than us California boys!
Like I said...I made some similar types of sounds in Atmosphere. Next quarter I will probably do a QT video on our site showing how to make these kinds of sounds. All the best, spectrum |
