Which VST would you recommend for someone wanting to learn sound synthesis from scratch ? I've downloaded a few of the freebies & demos, and some notes about synthesis, but don't know which to start with ?
Thanks & a happy New Year to all!

if youre starting out [with a focus on patch building] and looking at freebies ... the ones that immediately spring to mind are ...
> triangle2 [rgc:audio] > freealpha [linplug] > synth1 [cant remember] ... oh yeah ... welcome to k-v-r ... slainte

Synth1 and Triangle 1 and 2. For great hands-on practice, these three are hard to beat. All three are classic analog style synths, and they're FREE ew

Thanks very much for the replies. Whether I'll manage to create any usable sounds or not is another matter, but I'd love to get to the stage where I could create the kind of sounds I want with one of the more powerful synths (dream on!!). |
