Finally it's out,

long job by me and the programmer on this synth,

come on trancers, hardcorers, teknomakers give it a try!

the demo is here: http://nusofting.liqihsynth.com/

Fat Machine the alias-free VST synth (Windows PC)

the price is just $ 29 till the end of January!

Nice work, Liqih! It's a great synth with a HUGE bottom end, and it looks fantastic, too! Surprised Worth four times the paltry $29, if you ask me. For anyone who didn't hear it before, I did this track ALL with Fat Machine. Yup, no other sounds were used...

I got the demo, and am seriously considering it, but the three minute time out is driving me crazy and not giving me enough time to really try it out.

Also I get a 404 when I try to download the demo presets

Hmmm...

It times out before I can figure out how to use it. Is it suppose to do that? I'd say within 2 minutes? Some goofy screen comes up telling me to restart the plugin, so being the nice guy that I am, I do this, and then when it comes back up the window is like 5 pixels wide and I can't get it back to normal viewing size (XP Pro/Orion Platinum 3.7)

This thing does some really weird shit in Orion on my machine...

Liqih,

F.Y.I. You have a broken link under your mp3 examples the song "example 2" lists as http://nusofting.liqihsynth.com/examples/fat_machine.mp
you might want to add a "3" to the ".mp"

I got it to work after I added the "3"

I'll download the VST when I get home and check and see what occurs...

Well,

I downloaded the demo - and I'm afraid this is just silly.

I mean - u are only giving away 10 patches to try with the demo???

BTW - I can't even get these to download - lol.

If the thing packs up after 3 minutes how am I meant to program a patch and audition/play around with it???

It would be wise to:

1} Extend the demo to 10 minutes before it fucks up.
2} Include the 100 sounds as part of the demo.
3} Make sure the download links work before announcing the bloody thing!

Take care,

Reg

BTW - Why are more and more plugin companies releasing a few patches with the demos and heaps more for people who buy the synths???

The only reasoning I can see is:

A} Most of the patches will be too similar or unusable crap - which is quite normal.

B} To stop unlicensed users getting their hands on 'em - which is pointless because the patches pop up a couple of days after the synth shows up on a newsgroup anyway.

some replies

-Thanks for reporting the broken links: fixed now

-beside the 10 presets bank, with shift+click on RND button you get a new 128 presets bank each time you click

-for me and betatesters the prog works in Orion , anyway I'll check again
with latest vs

-about the short timed demo, the programmer chose that but to let you save the presets, I'll talk with him again about that. (Anyway in Cubase at least it's just the matter of clicking the red button on the top let corner of the plugin window to have the synth back in half a second and you don't loose your tweaking too.)

-another VA ? yes since it supposed to be different <grin>

even warez do <grin> , peace Reg

anyway IMHO RND banks generator works fine in Fat Machine

Thanks everybody for the attention,

and one more Thanks to Scot for the testing and the great song <grin>

OK, I just downloaded this... And I'm gonna have to totally agree 100% with Reg on this...

1. You only give 3 minutes to try it out?!?! You have to give the players a chance to play with it, tweak it, etc... I can barely take a shit in 3 minutes!!!

2. Your presets link is broken, so we can't even tell what the possibilities are of your VST. Plus only 10 out of the 100??? That's like expecting a hooker to give you the all nighter for $100 and you give her ten dollars instead, expecting everything and all you get is a 2 minute handjob.

3. If you're gonna place an "AD" as stated on the subject of this... Don't you think you should double check your website and make sure that everything works? I mean that's business 101 brother!

In conclusion, I'm REALLY gonna have to wait and see what happens before I'd even be interested in buying this.

$29 is a good price, but what am I getting??? MP3 Demos only do so much... I personally need to play with the VST and see if I like it...

You might wanna delete this post, re-work your business plan and try again once you got all your problems fixed... Just a little advice. ..

If anyone knows how to piss away money towards bad investments/futures it is me!!! Smile Smile Smile

Good Luck Liqih!!!

Yeah I liked Scot's track too, particularly (surprise surprise) for his use of sounds.

If anyone can coax magnificence out of a synth he can.

Good to see another nice affordable synth on the market.

Yeah - this is a classic synth.

Almost good enough for the SynthEdit forum Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks, Caleb, Prophet, Kevvvvv, for the comments on the song. It's easy to make good sounds with just about anything Liqih designs. That's not a sales pitch, just my opinion. He is a master synthesist, as all who have used his Reaktor/SynC/Infinity creations know, and I have always sort of "identified" with his synths...

well spotted. Wink

so what is this then? astrolead part 3 'the search for astrolead 2'?

why is this called fatmachine then?

I'm assuming that it must some kind of "re-branding" of the AO Audio stuff.

A mini corparate takover?

Synergy?

Strategic partnership?

ok I thought al night and I was convinced,
all full 108 sounds bank is now free download
along with the Fat Machine demo.

(Orion users please hold on for the demo , full version works though)

Moreover the low introductory price is extended till 1 March 2003,
due to the slow release of Trimmetry

and

about Astrolead, no mistery here,
it's all written in the docs, included in demo too

for "lazy" guys I report a bit here:
"Based on the previously released Astrolead synth which shared some of the
sound shaping characteristics of the Astrobelt Pad Machine synthesizer, it
has been revamped to include a thorough filter redesign"

I'll say Hi to Aldo from you <grin>
