The official statement was that it's in the 1.2 update which will be out soon. It works quite well.

Hi
bajongo, You seems to be a betatester, it works at the gigastudio level? (no other soft sampler up to date seems to match the gigastudio disk streaming performance). Thanks Enrique C.

Hi krraqk,
yes, I'm a beta toaster. I don't own Giga sampler so I can't compare it. I own Halion and Kontakts disk streaming is on a similar performance level with Halion but I didn't compare them directly. But as it is already it's VERY usable as Halion is.

thx for the info, bajongo!
does this also fasten the loadtime for big patches?

Hi bajongo,
First thanks for the info. I know also the halion disk streaming. Its inferior to the one in Giga Sorry cant resist to ask you something (probably you cant answer): In the NI forums I remember something about many new functions in the new Kontakt 1.2 (others than disk stream). Can you explain something about the new features? That beat slicer and time strecher from Inkakt is here? I was decide to purchase kontakt, but the news from NAMM have confused me (mainly the new libraries that seems much better than the ones in kontakt). Excuse me if im asking something you cant answer. Greetings Enrique C.

I am confused about the Intakt announcement....will intakt looping functionality be in Kontakt in a future update? Or do they want us to purchase Intakt as well?

Hey Moritz,
patch loading is a little faster as not the whole samples are loaded into RAM. Depends on the actual length of the samples. When the samples are very long the loading times improve a lot. Hey krraqk, actually I'm not allowed to talk about any features of upcoming Kontakt versions. I only can say this: I want these beat slicer thingies to come into in Kontakt, too. I only said these things about the disk streaming because Steffen from NI said it on KvR before me. Otherwise I wouldn't have said a single word about it.

I understand, thanks anyway

At a guess, the way disk streaming works is as follows:
i) Measure the latency of the disk drive. ii) Load up that amount of each wav file. iii) When hitting a note, play the start of it from RAM and simultaneous start a disk transfer.
