I work with my guitar plugged in thru amplitube.
I use CubaseVST32 as sequencer. Still, I'm looking for a very good drum set/instrument/effect to replicate a nice live sound of a standard rock/blues/jazz drum kit.. I have fruityloops as standard and dr-008..but the first is quite 'dancy' and I don't know where to find good sets for the latter... help appreciated...thx!!! bye NiX

int the battery section (I think dr008 imports battery, if not you can access the samples in the folder) its called "ambient kit" its ACOUSTIC drumkit (nuffin to dowith electronic ambient type of music) to my ears it sounds better than the nskit

I must say that this bit of kit
http://www.esoundz.com/viewDetails.asp?ProductID=107 is absolutely amazing for real drum sounds. I almost didn't get them, but damn I'm really happy I did. The drums are mapped differently than regular GM but they sound really good, and since they are mapped differently you can get a very realisitc sound out of them. I think it comes with sampletank LE so you can play it right away without a dedicated sampler. I'm not sure though I bet SQUIDS can come in on this to verify. dw

Oh yes indeed, the old sonic reality accoustic drums are the absolute biz, all the little ghost notes/flams can make yer drums sound very realistic. For some reason I thought he only wanted free stuff otherwise I would have recommended this straight off -loads of kits recorded well in stereo, I think I've used em on every track I've done since I got them- except the shitty electronic thing I'm trying to write now for some bleeding clothing company advert - bastords!

I'm with Donkey - the NS (Natural Studio) kit's are awesome. They made a piano SF too that has a subtle pedal sound too - very cool!

I back the NS kit also.
So now you have your choice or choices. dw

The NSKit is good, I think a DR-008 conversion will be available very shortly. Also check out the Wizlive kit in the User Kit Library for DR-008. It's a 35MB download but sounds pretty good. |
