Not to worry. I posted a message to the list about how to download it.
So, if you weren't able to download it, look for a recent message
from me on the list with the instructions.

Another one so soon? Great.

Although after I went through about 15 pages of Yahoo nonsense, I remembered why I stopped using Yahoo. Why is it that anything vaguely American can't understand that we don't all use zip codes or postal codes? It's usually a necessary field to fill in and I don't have a bloody zip code, so I normally get pissed off and put something facetious in as it won't accept "not applicable". But of course it won't accept facetious postal codes either, bah! And as for "we have just sent you e-mail verification.........................." ........ I'm still waiting.........

Sorry, a bad day, and the net can sometimes be so infuriating.

Anyway, thanks Glenn.... if Yahoo will ever let me in, I'm sure 2.2 will be well worth the wait

Hey Kritikon,

Being an Australian I often have this problem as well, the way I tend to resolve all my online form issues is basically by pretending I reside somewhere like sunny california, afterall most things you signup for just seem to add more spam to your inbox anyways and I'm not terribly keen on giving my real details away every day of the week so they can be sold.
Only time I recommend handing out details is if it's a money thing really, and that doesn't include nigerian banking scams Wink.

Almost forgot. Crystal Rocks.

I have become a member of Yahoo crystal users with the promise of downloading the awsome Crystal Vsti. Despite being able to log into the site (i.e. Welcome, username, crystal - users) I can't find a link to download this little baby from.

Anyone who has the time to explain to me how to find the download would be a top bloke/blokette in my books.

P.S. This forum is filled with an incredible amount of highly useful information. At least in my opinion. Thanks to those who do.

Well one way to do so is to go to the "files" section of the yahoo group. That's where I picked up 2.2 from.

Thanks but the files link is not a link for me. It is just text. Maybe it is a browser problem although I don't have any other probs I know of.

I saw no folders at the link. I am downloading now though so thank you. Maybe I just don't uderstand the Yahoo login process but I figured that being as they have emailed me a password and I have a username and password and have successfully logged in that all would be cool. Maybe I should try re-registering. Any way all is good and I am seconds away from trying Crystal 2.2 out.

Thanks again prog

no problem.

I hope you can get it working. The New presets are really good, and some of the modified waveforms are really warm.

Crystal is a very nice free vsti like Synth 1 and I use it from time to time for my music. Thanks for that, Glenn!

But why is now the download so complicated, only with a membership by Yahoo possible Question I don't like such clubs and give up therefore the newest versions of Crystal.

>>>the next version will only be available at a small shoe store in Zimbabwe...details to follow.... Laughing

That's the point! "Defend the beginning!"

It's a freebie and bandwidth costs money. With so many people downloading Crystal, this must help somehow.

I'm not too lucky with yahoo groups. Whenever I try to download bigger files, It always breaks. (I'm still a modem retard Very Happy ).

Just broke again! Crying or Very sad

You know guys,if you READ the group posts,Glenn's posted alternate sites to d/l from.
The reason he's doing this is so we'd have an active users GROUP,and not a bunch of people grabbing the new version and running off, never to be heard from again. So,READ the posts and get involved.

I think Glenn can do whatever he like to Crystal and he can also
distribute it in any manner he see's fit.I'd jump through hoops for it
never mind spend two minutes filling in a form.

I hope the yahoo signup procedure isn't too complex. It seems pretty streamlined, but I know that filling out any forms, no matter how simple, can be a pain when you're in a hurry. But as someone mentioned earlier, the point is to build a community of Crystal users, so that we can all get more out of it, particularly by sharing patches.

Regarding the 2.2 download instructions, those are mailed to you automatically when you join. If you don't see that mail, you can also find the instructions in the files area of the crystal-users yahoo group.

Once you have joined your first Yahoo group the rest are easy. Just remember your name and password. There are some great groups out there. I wish I had more time in the day to keep up with them all. The Emu P2K group was always helpful, even with other hardware like the XL-7. The Nord Modular group is a must if you want the most out of it. If the group is good the developer is almost always involved in some way. I only wish it had a better system of reading all the messages in a thread.

I am a member of several ranging from groups on poetry, alumni groups, and geeky science stuff, to groups on synthesis and crystal. I have three profiles on those groups, and different delivery mechanisms. All of which can be maintained rather easily. So my alumni groups see one email address and identity, while the music groups see the progfusion74 identity. All of these are under the same yahoo ID.

I am glad we have a dedicated crystal group. Much required.

No it was easy. I only got broken downloads with yahoo. Got a good workaround from the help of SOMEONE Wink here.

Thank you very much btw, it's an incredible synth. Very easy to use and to understand. Lots of possibilities!!!
