well, feh. Vivaldi MX is discontinued and removed from Stefan's site, so here's the abbreviated bank of 12 patches I came up with so far for those who already downloaded it...
Foosnark VMX Bank Sad to see a good synth go.

What! Stefan, if you read this at all I'd like to say that I understand your reasons for giving it up, but I realy think you should start on a realy nice version and sell it (I would pay for the versions you have now). Don't be swayed by all of the pricks out there! BTW thanks for the patches foosnark.

Totally agree. I think Stefan's free synths are some of the very best out there, even better than the likes of Synth1 and TriangleII. I would definitely have paid for them (and still would). Stefan - don't give up - finish MX and get loads of presets sorted, and release it for about $30. You'll be amazed by the response I think. At that price, MX would be one of the best value for money synths out there. Foosnark - patches are excellent, thanks very much.

Yep. Me, too. I *really* like Stephen's synths! I would be willing to pay.
Come back, Stephan!!! Jim

Thanks pal !
these patches are usefull ... thank you very much ! A week a go i told stefan i didn`t have time to make patches because it is so time consuming time i never seem to have. and now you put a whole lot online ! thank you ! sad to hear Stefan Kuhn is going to quit Vivaldi distribution I just started a week ago with a Vivaldi demosong after Stefan contacted me when he heared the face of beauty In that song i used a lot of vivaldi patches We agreed i would do a small demo song for him just to thank him for vivaldi ! I didn`t come to finishing it because each time something else pops up and when i had something, i used crystal in the back which wasn`t a smart thing to do for a vivaldi demo ... so again sorry stefan If you read this Stefan ... i am still busy on the demo and if you aren`t online anymore i will post it on kvr take care .. we believe in YOU ! Does anyone know what exactly has prompted Stephan to give up?

This is really bad. Yet another developer beaten by the dark side.
I was just preparing for a round-up review of FM-based synths and wanted to include his synths for obvious reasons Stefan, if you are still around, we really believe in you and your stuff. Don't let missery get you down.

I think it's the declaration of bankruptcy of his employer (a software house for multi media)
Vivaldi was a hobby of Him, he had an agreement with his employer he may do it as long as he did it for free When the declaration of bankruptcy of his employer was there it was a big crash for him especially because he thought the company died because of cracks just a guess .. but perhaps He can enlighten us on the reson .. mabey he just wants to do different stuff he pretty much completed Ganeymed and Vivaldi

I've added these to the banks page.

man, what a bummer...He seemed like a really nice guy whenever he posted here...Something must have really pissed him off to go that far If it's any consolation Stefan, I never did try Vivaldi MX so I can't comment, but I DID use Ganymed on a couple of tracks and it was an amazing synth, let alone a free one...I respect your decision, just wanted to say thanks! anyway, and wish you luck in future ventures

Too bad. Hope he comes back when he's ready. His synths sound sweet.
Glad I download every freebie Synth I see here. These things can go away as fast as they come.

Wow this hurts on a personal level.Ganymed was the first vsti synth that included some of my patches in the default bank.It really has a sentimental place in my heart.I feel like we've lost not only one of the bright minds in the business but a good friend as well.I hope you continue to be a member of the community Stephan and please accept my apologies if I have not shown you and your work the respect so rightfully due.Shine on LightHouse at Dawn.

This is such a shame. I don't blame him either.

Oh, my, God! I can't believe I'm reading this! Stefan's VSTis are #! in my book! I use them more than SampleTank XL, even! Most of the VSTis I've got tucked in their own folders in my plugins directory, meaning it's an extra click to get to them. Ganymed and Vivaldi MX are the ONLY ones I have sitting at the root of Vstplugins. That's how much I value them and USE them! (Especially now that I know how to use them properly in Chainer.)
Foosnark, thank you for making those presets. I'm getting them now, and you can believe I'm going to be ghosting today so I won't risk losing access to Ganymed and Vivaldi. I may have to try my hand at making some presets for Vivaldi MX--maybe we all could--and share them, just to keep this fine program alive. I've been talking MX up everywhere I go. Stefan, please change your mind. Take a vacation, do something nice and selfish for yourself, for however long you need to do it--then please come back to us. Please? I mean, you are one of the very few VSTi developers out there that I've often wished I could meet sometime over a beer. And if it's people being crap-heads (intentionally or unintentionally) that ran you off, believe me, I can sure relate. They don't realize how much damage they do in this world...or do they? Yes, very sad news indeed Like the Teflon engineer said 'Try to pin bad criticisms on me? It ain't going to stick!' Great patches Foosnark! |
