I have never read a threat or anything about it from any KVRists.
So I would really be interested if anyone uses that microcomputer as a main instrument (or beside). I am using it now for over 1 year and it is a real beast for bases or freakin FX or just digitally new leadsounds. Am I the only one using it ? bryllyant

I found it a bit weird and couldnt get my head round it, but if youve got some nice presets youve made bryllyant then i,ll happily give it another whirl

News to me, but sounds intriguing. Where can I find this beast?
| jackbatterypack | Posted: 18th February 2003 11:26 | |||
it's here...
http://www.block4.com/plugin/microcomputer.php3 it's one of my favourite Vsti from an original sound point of view... i mainly use it for strange bleeps and percussive sounds... it's totally unpredictable and sounds VERY dirty and digital... just seen that they're currently developing a new VSTi too!

the microcomputer seems sort of interesting, but it seems that it doesnt track pitch that well with some settings? still, its good to see a different sort of synth (that would drive the alias-police crazy).
| ttoz | Posted: 18th February 2003 23:42 | |||
I use this baby for really digital sounding special fx loops....
I blend that in with my drum loops and some wicked delay fx and you get some really cool techno grooves... Haven't really used it as a lead synth though...brylliant, i would be very curios to try your presets

You can have my bank of course, I give you a link tonight. But please turn the knobs then bye ingo

Ho ho ho,
Good to see that there actuelly are others who got this cool vsti I have had it for over a year too. And really liked it. But not really sure how to use it. Itīs a little tricky to program, but as said before, real original sounds coming out of the little bastard. But as the stream of vstiīs are never ending I sort of forgot it. Would be cool to see your presets, and give it another try.

Thanks guys! Was in a rush last night, so I didn't dive to deep into the site. Will give it a go today.

to me it sounds like a circuit bent synth. I use it pretty often. I do have one beef with it though -- the notes seem to cut out unexpectedly when I play it. Sometimes I'll go from one note to another and everything is fine, sometimes the second note cuts off the sound. hrmmm.
But I like it a lot. A very different kind of sound.

this has been one of my favourite synths since it came out
i just love the nasty abrasive sounds it makes,digital and harsh(in a good way) i`ve released a couple of eps now with tracks that have microcomputer as the main lead synth
| arrakeen | Posted: 19th February 2003 10:43 | |||
Another happy user here. Had it since first version and love the digital harshness. Pitch tracking is a little odd but usally gives some great fx. I use it for wierdness and percussive fx mainly. Wish there was more stuff like this!

for those who ask for my sounds: www.elmodic.de/DiGiTaL_HuStLeR.fxb play around c0 - c1. Maybe some sounds give you an idea of what this MC does... cheers b.

I think it bugs (?) when a keys attacks before a preceeding one releases the preceeding note-off infdluence after all the following "key-ons" (you see ?, excuse my english Ļ)

Hi Guys n Gals,
Happy user here too! I thought I was the only one using this because as mentioned there isnt much noise about it! I love the unpredictability of this little monster but then again I like Aphex - NiN music so Microcomputer rocks IMHO. Now if I could just get a Mac version of Quantum64... Mighty_Hero has started a really good idea by asking as many Pro 53 users as possible to make patches and he is compiling a bank to share with everyone else - perhaps we should look at this idea for Microcomputer? I think the only thing missing from it are presets. What do you guys think? Cheers,
| e-modic | Posted: 21st February 2003 03:20 | |||
pretty good idea, but the Microcomputer is not that flexible, I mean honestly: it is a digital monster and it is good but 30 or 40 presets and thatīs it. So if we make two banks all sounds are done.
For me it is the combination with filter delays that makes the MC so interesting. So if you make a bank and put together with my bank www.elmodic.de/DiGiTaL_HuStLeR.fxb then we should have all kind of sounds. cheers bryllyant

Have you tried Quadrasid at www.refx.net ? Yes it's not as simple as quantam, actually it's quite complicated beast but perservere, and it can do anything quantum does but 10 times better. brylliant said:
You have hit the nail right on the head! THIS is what makes microcomputer special...how it sounds after you've used some wicked delays and filters...like i said in an earlier post, i made some amazing loops with this thing

Hi ttoz,
I tried it (QuadraSid) some time ago and was impressed at what it does - must DL the demo again - Thank you! And ... I'm inspired to try MC through Ohmboyz 2nite - again Thanks for the tips Also, I mailed Malte about an AU version of MC and he hopes to have the new synth and MC done before the Frankfurt music fair. I cant wait to hear the new synth considering how cool and quirky MC is! Cheers,
| e-modic | Posted: 21st February 2003 06:11 | |||
yeah, and Malte said today that he will upload some of his soundbanks for the MC. I hope I wonīt forget!
Btw: did anyone listen to Maltes music, itīs very ill sound. Made with MC...

Thanks a million Bryllyant!
I used LSDJ on an old Grey GameBoy, Commodore 64 with HardSid Quattro and a Casio cz101, recorded into SoundForge on P.C. Im really glad you like it - your the first person I don't know to say that Cheers and have a great weekend!
