Thanks LP. I had done the Reason images for fun but I did the Spectrasonics modules for Eric. An other 3D shot is visible at Spectrasonics NAMM booth photos.

Well I actually wish there was hardware like that and that I could afford it. You know everytime i get hooked on a software instrument I find myself wishing it was reincarnatedd into hardware. Is it just me or would we all love to have a studio full of harware if the money was of no concern.

The graphocs do look terrific.

call me odd - but no - i prefer having it all in one box

having said that - for the stuff i do [deliberately lofi] - i dont care too much about absolute sonic fidelity so the hardware / software split doesnt concern me too much

I am with experimentfour. I like good sound. software gives me the advantage of having everything in one box. Only place I drool over hardware is keyboards. I am a sucker there, which is why I am glad that the minimoog voyager and alesis andromeda are so expensive Smile. A really good hardware box like the Dave Smith evolver, while tempting would be infinitely more so if it had a keyboard version.

Me too, prefer to have my synths in one box, but I enjoy seeing 3D incarnations of softsynths. They help me to grasp what I have in my computer and encourage me to explore its potentials. I think, sometimes it is easier to omit a synthesizer if it is in software form... perhaps because it hurts the wallet much less than a hardware. Laughing

Only thing I hate about softsynths is that being always have to worry about the CPU!

Me four. I much rather have my gear in a single enviroment where I can switch things around and add as many synths as I want and load as big a sample as I want. Having 7 diffrent instances of Pro-53 is much more convenient than actually having a room full of Prophets V's. I dont think CPU load will be much of an issue when the new Mac processors, and the new Intel and AMD processors come out. Smile

That's probably true. I could bring it to my knees if I want to, esp using something like Reaktor and discovery, but with crystal and z3ta+ I do fine, but then I know that as we move along, CPU load will become a lesser problems (I know that all too well from work)

Alright, guess it's just me then.

Probably it's a depravity complex from the days when the only way to get a moog was to buy a moog and i couldn't afford more than a roland home keyboard with humilating green and purple buttons. Mind you I was only about twelve then.

Probably explains my tendancy to lust over the software re-enacrnations of old synths. Very Happy
