I have to use revitar in chainer within logic 5 becasue i am having crash problems if i put revitar into a project that refx slayer was/is ever used on, even if slayer is no longer in the project...trying to insert a revitar = instant logic crash...interesting that it doesn't do it in any other vsti, and that if i insert revitar in a project where slayer hasn't been used there is no problem...but it stilll seems to lean more towars revitar's fault...
So yes I use chainer and revitar together and they work fine... exactly what is going wrong andreas? you mean revitar doesn't show in the list at all? or you cant get the gui to open? r u using chainer 1.03, revitar 1.01??? Actually, while i have written thispost, maybe somewhen else using logic 5 pc can try the slaye revitar thing for me...

Honestly, I didn't code Revitar to crash if slayer got anywhere near it I'm trying to figure out the Logic problem. I think some bugs got introduced when I moved Revitar from version 2.0 to 2.2 of the VST SDK (I like how the knobs move in version 2.2 better.) I'm reworking the code now. If anyone has Logic and wants to help me beta test a Revitar update, email me at support@cuttermusic.com . Have any other developers noticed problems with the VST SDK 2.2? -Larry www.cuttermusic.com

ttoz, yes, revitar doesn't show in the list at all and I´m using chainer 1.03 and revitar 1.02. I´m also using Logic 5.2 and Slayer, so I will try if I can reproduce your problem, but I only have time for that after tomorrow, sorry.

Larry, I´ll like to do it, but I don´t have time before Friday.

No problem, just send me an email when you have the time. -Larry www.cuttermusic.com

Silly question, why 5.2? If you are convinced to stay on a pre 5.5 version, surely 5.3.0 is the answer? That was the best logic windows build ever, even better than 5.5(but i love exs24 mark II too much Stability of 5.3 was tops... actually, are you using revitar in chainer stand alone? If not, why not just use it directly in logic...?? And larry, LOL, no i didn't think you purposely coded revitar to crash the system with slayer near it Is there a Revitar 1.02, I must have missed something??? The latets file i downloaded still says 1.01....

ttoz, I did make a minor update to 1.0.2. It fixed a bug that occured when the speed setting was turned really low (not a big update.) I'll probably be making another update this weekend once I get a chance to port Revitar to version 2.0 of the SDK, so you might want to wait until then. Hopefully this version of the SDK proves to be more stable. -Larry www.cuttermusic.com

1. ttoz, I´m using Magix Midi Studio 2003 which is Logic 5.2. So I can´t update to a higher version of Logic. 2. I´m using Revitar in Chainer standalone. Larry has sent me an updated file which now is recognized by and working well in Chainer. scutter wrote: If anyone has Logic and wants to help me beta test a Revitar update, email me at support@cuttermusic.com . -Larry ttoz wrote: Actually, while i have written this post, maybe someone else using logic 5 pc can try the slayer revitar thing for me... Now I had a little time to test it (earlier than I presumed). I replaced a Slayer-track with Revitar 1.02 and had no Logic crash. But when playing this track, there is an Asio system overload because of the high CPU consumption of Revitar (which can be avoided by choosing a larger Asio buffer = higher latency time). I think there must be another problem in your setup, ttoz.

I think it's more likely that there is something in logic plat 5.5 that isn't in magix studio that is causing the conflict Considering this is the only plug in combination I have had an actuual CRASH in logic with, for as long as i can remember

Although I already have Slayer and Plucked String 3, the sound of Revitar is so fascinating that I have to purchase it when the oscillating volume bug of the demo will be fixed |
