AuthorTopic: Arturia Moog V - Processor pegged?

Anyone else watching their processor get pegged when the sound fades out? My first guess would be a denormalizing issue. 1.7ghz machine should not be pegging the CPU meter. All my other plugin's work fine such as Reaktor, FM7, Absynth, etc. Using Cubase SX as the host.

Ditto. 2.8ghz Pent IV doing the same thing. I do like the sounds that are comming out before the CPU meter goes haywire.

Nothing here. Tried a pad. Maxed out at 4%. On an Athlon here

When I'm playing notes the CPU is fine, but when I let go and let the synth sit there quietly it eats CPU for no reason.

Oh hay Prog, is there a preset named after you in MMV? I thought I saw your name in there. Good work if its you.

It is named after me (I hope Very Happy) but Scot Solida is the man who did it. I am not that good yet, probably won't ever come close. I like myself though Very Happy

Yep, there is definitely some CPU overhead (about 4-6%) while standing.

Then it looks like MMV has the Denormal issue then as far as I can tell. The denormal issue hits when the sound is almost faded to nothing, going into a flaoting point op that pegs the processor. I would have thought a NEW plugin wouldn't have that issue since Intel has released how to program around that bug with the procs. It wasn't so much an issue with AMD, which would make sense why the AMD guys are not seeing it.

I know digitalfishphones has a 'normalizer' plugin that helps to correct the problem by not allowing silence to happen. \

AD80 - You want to d/l that plugin and give it a whack to see if that corrects the problem? I already whacked it off my drive already. The interface is way too bloated for my taste. Sad Plus watching a piano rhodes sound eat up 50 percent of my proc for about 6 notes just shows me how un-optimized the code is. Only the Linplug Albino did that to me on SOME patches before the 1.01 patch came out.
