I wanted a Nord look but also to make the text more legible so I used a colour picker to select the colours that the synth doesn't change and "merged" them into it

panel - #960000
text - #ffff90

Well I went for easy on the eyes:Panel = #808080 Text=#101010 which is black letters on grey background.Really boring but when tweaking knobs for long periods it's gentle on the old peepers.

Just tried Synth1 for the first time: Its a great little synth but I have two questions.

How are presets loaded?

Where is the text file to change the colours (I am assuming this is how its done)?

Hi Alex,
The presets/banks are stored in folder's in the Synth1 folder itself, numbered 0 > 9. All you do is install any banks you have download to any of these 10 folders. Load Synth1 > press the OPT button > this opens a settings page where you direct Synth1 to where the banks are stored. Just click on each bank in turn > click change > point it to the folder where the banks are stored. In my case for bank 0 the path is, C\:Programfiles\Steinberg\Vstplugins\Synth1\soundbank 00 and so on for the other 9.
I'm not sure about how to change the colour scheme, I've never tried it.

In your Options screen, you have two color codes-one for panel and one for text.Type in the hex equivalent for the color you want, and you have it.
