AuthorTopic: Fruity Loops and FM7 Controller Nightmare...Help!

I have been doing my nut trying to get the FM7 sliders to be controlled by an external Evolution UC16 controller box. The Midi path is -

UC16-----Midi Keyboard------PC------FLoops---FM7

The 'Fruity Wrapper' window that the FM7 opens in, usually has a handy 'Link to Controller' list where assignment of an external midi controller can be matched against a list of the synths sliders. Voila, Junglist filter, rez etc are mapped in an instant.

The problem I have is that 'Link to Controller' is greyed out for the FM7 and therefore midi controllers are unassignable. I have a list of standard controller values that the FM7 is supposed to respond to BUT something is blocking controller data being received, probably the Fruity Wrapper. The small FM7 LED Midi receive light (next to the prog number) will only light up when notes are played or Pitchbend is applied. Modulation doesnt even work, and I am DOING MY NUT trying to find a solution....

Evolution sent me an .f7c to map their excellent midi controller with the FM7 but the problem must be with FLoops as ccData works with other sequencers.

Can someone please tell me how to get round this as every other softsynth has no problems mapping to midi cc's

Yours suicidally

I would help you if you asked that on official forums. Otherwise i think you have a warez version, and since i paid for mine i am not inclined to help.

Just thought you might like to know.

Thanks.

I'm a registered FLStudio4 user and the official forums make my teeth itch... Rolling Eyes

If I ever had a serious problem with Fruity I would probably ask here first too.

I have an answer, but choose not to give it , but explained why - with this i actually went further than usual. Most of the time i simpy ignore questions.

But if you don't hold my beliefs - why don't you provide the answer yourself instead of wasting time on me?

Hmm, 'Link to Controller' ain't greyed out here when using FM7 VSTi.
But even if it is, have you tried the following approach:

Use Fruity-MidiOut, assign the same midi channel to it and FM7. Then define what controller number the knobs of the Fruity-MidiOut should correspond to. Use the 'Link to Controller' for these knobs (which should then send the midi CCs to FM7).

I think that should do the job.

Hang on a sec - are you using the DXi version of FM7? Link probably wouldn't work if so, in which case use the VSTi version,

Even if he is using the DXi version, it should work the way I described using Fruity-MidiOut.

Fev, this is truly ridiculous....
you wont give someone an answer to help?

I guess this forum should be titled

Instruments -- except those used in FLStudio, because you are probably using a warez version.

get off it.

I hate the fruity forums. its full of a bunch of self - important jerks.

Go and label ppl. its not right.

Silent,

While that may be the case for LoopTalk, the TechSupport Forum is great and most of the time you'll get an answer of a workaround very fast from someone.

Feveria probably noticed that this was a techsupport question posted on KvR by someone who had only 1 post at the time because I noticed that too. I would just make sense to ask in TechSupport first you know? I think that's where the assumption is comming from.

I spent considerable effort and time filling out FAQ section on Fruityloops website. I am not about to start giving personal attention to people who can't access it due to obvious limitations of the warez version.

So far all i see in this thread is more bullshit. If you don't think the way i am - go ahead and help him. I already helped every registered user - i added like 30 articles to the FAQ. What have you done to have a moral right to critisize me?
