Hi all. new here.
I'd like to check out synth1 because i hear many good things about it but it doesnt seem to work with cubase 5.1r1.

When installed -and the dll copied to my vst dir- then when i startup cubase it gives an error about "synth1 crashing before start" or something like that.

Anyway, my question is does anyone know a workaround for this bug?
I've searched ng's and here it the forum but didnt find what i was looking for.
Cubase sx will probably do the trick but i'd rather stay with 5.1r1.

cheers

I use 5.1R1 and use synth1 quite a bit

I remember I had issues with "installing" Synth1. If I remember correctly, I just unpacked synth1 (the whole folder) into my vst plugins directory and everything worked fine, but it was so long ago, I don't really remember. But you can try it anyway.

I don't remember having any problems installing synth1 in cubase 5.1.
But, like prog, it's been so long ago...I can't be sure..still, keep trying!
wish I could be more help, but all I can do is encourage you, cause it does work.

I think Synth 1 defaults to it's own folder but I did pretty much what prog did, copy the folder to the directory and install the .dll (or extension) within my Cubase VSTi directory.

That works for me. Hope it works for you.

Silly me tried all kinds of things *except* unpacking the whole synth1 dir in cubase vstplugins folder.

So did what you all said, unpacked it straight in the vstfolder and now it works Smile

Thanks all!
