AuthorTopic: Arcade music type synth?

I remember reading very recently about a synth, I believe it was free, that did 'arcade' type sounds. Had a fairly simple interface as well. Could someone point out the name to me please? Thanks!

A couple that specialise in that sorta sound :

TobyBear's Borderliner, or Land of Cockaigne's Quantum 64, or commercially there's QuadraSid from ReFX...

The synth I think you're talking about is called Peach and features sampled Nintendo sounds loaded in. There is also a percussive module which has the percussive Nintendo sounds.

I believe the developer was Tweakbench.

Peach is very cool and has been a blast to work with.

Yeah, try Invader and esp. the Arcade preset - it sounds like you're in the arcades - honest!

Head over to tweakbench and download all their synths. Some cool stuff, most of it based on the sounds used to make music in old nintendo games.

Whyterabbyt hit it right on the head with Land of Cockaigne Quantum 64, which is what I was thinking of! Thanks!

The nintendo stuff sounds interesting, except for the fact I'd be nervous to touch anything that might be copyrighted, as this is for commercial release. Anyway, if I remember correctly, Nintendo 8 bit only had a sin, tri, square, and noise generator built in, with the ability to play pcm samples.

Any other suggestions besides digging into the Reaktor tutorial which had raw sound generation too?
