Meanwhile, "The Bundle" -- a package deal that contains Delta III, CronoX, Alpha, RM III & Element P -- is only $159.

-David, who can't afford that, either. Sad

how is just Albino worth more than the bundle? Shocked Surprised

Albino is awesome but the bundle is a better value if you know how to use a synth, and not just know how to select a preset Very Happy

Ok, now that's stupid. You don't even get the extra 75 presets, and no box or anything when you buy it online for the same damn price. Since I know they sell it for less for wholesale, this is pretty dumb.

$179 + $20 for extra = $199, and still, only the download not on a CD. Why? At least some products give you a $10-$20 discount if you just d/l it. In fact, with the sale going on at Sounds Online this week, you can get it for $159 IN the box. So again, even MORE dumb. I know they'd make more money just selling it off the website, so why give no incentive to buy it off the website? Then again, NI doesn't seem to care either. Business is weird like that sometimes.

Probably because of distributor pressure. Why distribute a box when customers can download it cheaper? Remember the changes OhmForce has been going through in preparation for a boxed set of effects? All the prices had to rise so that the boxed set would be cheaper than the download.

I'm not saying I like this. I don't like it at all. Nor do I like the fact that that Albino expansion sounds would cost me more per patch than Albino did. It looks like that has changed with the new price structure.

$20 / 75 expansion patches = 27 cents per patch
$150 / 650 included patches = 23 cents per patch for Albino with the old price.
$179 / 650 included patches = 27.5 cents per patch for Albino with the new price.

It might be a better value in the latter case as well. The Bundle comes with more than 1,000 presets for the included synths.

-David, who might now choose The Bundle if I had the cash.

We adjusted the online price in accordance to the box price. The current price is not much higher for European buyers due to the dollar exchange rates (compared to the price when we launched Albino), but I must admit that for US buyers the online offer is less attractive now.

Its not bad going for the box, I like it very much, especially for the printed manual and you can get the same support by registering your box purchase at linplug.com.

I can't say how disappointed I am with this. I had downloaded the demo and used Albino is the composition of some tracks I was working on. I was getting ready to purchase it but had to delay when I needed to buy some new tires for my car.

Now, I have to pay more? No new features, no good reason. This isn't wine fellows, it doesn't get better with age. I will have to pass, I have enough other synths I can use.

A question for people, is can Delta III come close to the textures in Albino? I know how to program a synth but would it be worth it? Or should I try to find a US distributor for the box of Albino?

How about $156.71 shipped, in a box, from the USA? www.soundsonline.com use promotional code BIRTHDAY on checkout.
