AuthorTopic: All Dash ensembles are now commercial !!

Hey, just noticed at the Dash site that the ensembles have been increased in price, and all those that were once free must now be bought as part of collections.

I'm glad I bought the ensembles that I was after last week. They are now twice the price. While I was there I was also lucky to have grabbed all of the free ones as now they are only available to buy Very Happy

In my opinion these ensembles were way too good to just give away anyway....well most of them Smile

I have no respect for dash, they are worse than warezers. They actually charge for ripping off and stealing Korg and Roland property. I hope Korg shut em down soon.

First, the prices are not Double, they are in fact a little bit higher. But the Collections, each synth is still under 10U$, wich were the old prices anyway. What really changes now is the structure of the sales. Also, all is avaliable on CD format, for those with low internet speed, or to have a Backup on midia.

Also, I won't discuss much with MrBlue here, so I don't start singing the blues... Laughing But we no longer use anything ripped from Roland, as you allready know. Yes, we started using Roland material, but a lot of small VST companies are doing that, but I won't call names.

Anyway, I hope that people like the new design, the new collections and CD option, since I got several requests for that.

Also, if you have any angry-comment, don't tell me, I'm only the Webmaster and funder of DashSynthesis. The company is now a group of several members, including Liqih, AuReality, JKnocker, Durk, WaveInHead and others.

Best Regards, WilliamK

Bluey, that's a pretty harsh statement. The 'clone' synths were removed upon request & all those vintage synths cannot have a patent on creative license in the digital domain..Korg i& Roland aren't kicking out .ens files, so why shouldn't WilliamK? Besides, unless you're some pignosed BlueBlood who owns an original Juno60, that company offers INTERPRETATIONS of classic synths that 99% of us will never be able to obtain, & with enhancements that cannot be replicated by the original, clearly with admiration for the progenitors. Dash has as much right to free enterprise as anyone else, & if they aren't directly sampling the sounds of these classics without license, I fail to see how he is impinging on copyrights, with the possible exception of titles, which have been removed. Just because there's a huge & debatably usefull free collection on NI's site doesn't mean that someone can't work hard & recieve compensation for it. I personally own almost all the Dash stuff, & he's been VERY responsive, VERY quickly..no waiting weeks for an indifferent NI e-mail..how can you find fault in that man? They've had enough shit this last month, cut the guys some slack.. I don't ever recall hearing NI say they have total domain control over the .ens file format. Not to mention the other companies that offer 3rd party preset purchases..I bought one from Bioroid for Absynth, you gonna diss that guy too?

By the way William, the new site totally kicks ass..& you read my mind ahead of time as I wanted to discuss the CD option with you, but you guys already jumped on it.

As I said last night, I'm sure I'm not the only Dash loyalist on the planet, so let ppl say what they will & keep up the good work. I intend to order all the available discs as an upgrade to my recent downloads, but will wait a few to see how the conversion utility functions.

Cheers

I have no respect for blueys, they are worse than cavedwellers. They actually expect attention for abitrarily disagreeing with and rubbishing mine and your opinions. I hope some responsible moderator shuts em down soon.

William K is a total freeloader. Sure they can charge for their work, but William K created a portal for charging, where as before it was just a nice community uploading to NI. Now they have the option of selling it via William, guess who looses out here ?

Imagine if peeps started charging different rates for each piece of Linux contribution ?

William K also once stated that the membership of dash was limited, and yet it has grown, because these members can now sell through Williams site.

Bah, all Reaktor users loose out now because of William.

And on top of that he ripped off and sold Korg and Roland in the past, and it wasnt small, it was BIGTIME !

Boycott Dash.
