i installed reaktor 4 on my dual boot powerbook following the instructions given during the installation process, which warns you how to exactly proceed with a double OS9 + OSX installation (funny detail - the instructions given with the original 4.0 installer - the one that's on the program cd - are wrong and were later changed for the 4.01 download update).
anyway, the thing to watch for is that you install everything for both operating systems in one and the same folder. i supposed this was due to the copyright protection thing which comes into play if you change your OS. i authorised reaktor 4 in OS9 using the online procedure which went very smoothly. now, when i boot up reaktor 4 in OSX i have to authorise this again and the response key i got for my OS9 version does not work here, so basically i'm wasting my precious second authorisation on this. has anybody tried this with the same result? | ||

The OS,CPU and motherboard are the three things that determine the authorization,so yes,on a dual boot system it'll take two authorizations. The page on the NI website about copy protection for R4 was fairly clear on that,I thought.

No, the page on the site is absolutely clear that you get 'free' extra authorizations for a dual boot machine for OSX and OS9:

i hadn't seen this faq yet.
it might be a good idea for NI to include information such as this in the readme file that comes with the installer. |
