If there is, how you managing with it?
I'm having the following 'issues' and since there's no bloody documentation with the download, it might be easier to know what's a problem and what's not if there was someone with a similar setup to check with. 1) If you've got the VST-DX adaptor, can you use Reaktor 4 in Sonar and save and load a project without it crashing? 2) How are yuo getting Reaktor to restore the right ensemble and settings after reloading a saved project? 3) Can you get the DXi version to process audio as an effect? Thanks.

1.) I haven't tried it with the Adapter yet, it's seems OK with the DXi (so far). I couldn't use R3 in DXi without major problems; it only seemed to work with the adapter.
2.) There are two workarounds that I've found so far. (Not great, but they seem to work.) I really wish NI would figure out a better method. a: Right click on the instrument, go to Properties and in the Snapshot settings, set it to recall by MIDI. Then set select your patch using the patch selection from the MIDI track in SONAR. The catch is, it won't load the song with the right patch loaded initially, so you have to hit play when you load the song so that it will transmit. (I've only done a few of these, but it has worked every time.) b: (Even worse) Save a separate ensemble every time I use Reaktor in a song. 3.) Yeah it's working now. I did have a problem at first using the Amp Sim as a channel insert with live monitoring, but I figured out that you have to manually set the track to stereo in order to get it to work. I think that was only because I was sending it a mono input. On stereo tracks I've had no problems with it. I just used one of the reverbs on an Aux channel and it's working fine.

Thanks for the tips genghis. As a user of much hardware the patch method is acceptable and quite customary.
I was hoping version four would make Reaktor more usable. So far in a short time I have locked up twice when using the DXi inside Soanr. It does sound good. Robert

I really have had very little trouble with Reaktor in SONAR, as long as I use these steps:
1. Insert R4 into the fx slot of an audio track instead of inserting it as a Dxi. 2. Asign a MIDI track out to Reaktor. 3. Before exiting project select Save as... for project. 4. Delete Reaktor from fx slot 5. Exit project without saving Also, when R4 prompts you when you open it as to saving options, select "No". I've had no trouble with Reaktor Dx so I've never tried it as a Vsti. I hope this helps. |
